Cloud Migration Proposal for Calgary Call Centre Solutions

Project Overview
I led a team to develop a comprehensive migration plan for Calgary Call Centre Solutions to transition from their on-premises IT infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The goal was to resolve the client’s challenges with slow network speeds, security vulnerabilities, and outdated hardware. By leveraging Azure's cloud technologies, we aimed to improve network performance, security, and scalability, providing a future-proof solution.

Our project was selected as the winner for its strategic approach, technical depth, and comprehensive solution.

Business & Technological Requirements

Security Vulnerabilities: The existing infrastructure was exposed to risks such as ransomware, DoS attacks, and DNS poisoning, putting sensitive data and operations at risk.
Outdated Infrastructure: Legacy hardware was impeding performance, limiting scalability, and hindering the ability to grow with evolving business needs.
Operational Bottlenecks: The client's infrastructure was unable to scale efficiently, resulting in inefficiencies and struggles to meet increasing demand.

Our proposed solution addressed these challenges by:
Cloud Migration: Transitioning essential services like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file storage, and network infrastructure to Azure for improved performance, scalability, and reliability.
Hardware Modernization: Replacing legacy infrastructure with Azure’s flexible and scalable cloud resources, enhancing both security and operational efficiency.
Enhanced Security: Leveraging Azure’s advanced security features such as Azure AD, DNSSEC, Azure Firewall, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud to mitigate risks and safeguard critical data and systems.

Our migration plan was broken into three stages to minimize downtime & ensure a seamless transition:

Preparation: Backup data, sync Active Directory with Azure AD, and assess the existing infrastructure.
Migration: Gradually migrate services (DNS, file storage, network) to Azure.
Post-Migration Optimization: Perform testing, create contingency plans, and optimize for security and performance.

The migration to Microsoft Azure provided Calgary Call Centre Solutions with enhanced security, scalability, and performance. The cloud infrastructure positions them for future growth, enabling them to meet their business needs more efficiently.
