I’m an IT student with a passion for troubleshooting and supporting technology. I’ve gained hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, and virtualized environments, and I’ve done really well in courses aligned with CompTIA certifications. I love solving technical challenges, whether it’s helping users, managing systems, or improving network efficiency.

Right now, I’m sharpening my skills in cloud technologies while preparing for a dynamic career in IT support or networking. I recently completed SAIT’s Network Systems Specialist program with a 4.0 GPA, where I built strong connections with instructors and classmates. About Me

I was born and raised in Canmore, Alberta, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, where I fell in love with hiking and fishing. My passion for IT and networking started in middle school, and it’s only grown since then.

I enjoy hosting my own servers, like Unraid for my movie collection, running game servers for friends, and setting up smart home controls with cameras. I’m excited to start my career in IT, particularly in support or as a junior network specialist.

Before diving into IT, I spent over 10 years in customer service, most recently at Kenroc Building Materials. It was here I learned the importance of helping people and solving problems—skills I know will serve me well in the tech world.

Cloud Migration and Security Enhancement for Optimal Performance 

Objective: Migrate the company's infrastructure to Microsoft Azure to address network challenges such as slow speeds, security vulnerabilities, and outdated hardware.
Goal: Improve network performance, enhance security, and provide a scalable, reliable environment that meets the client's needs for efficiency, security, and IT stability.

Proposal for
IT Infrastructure Upgrade

The project upgraded Calgary Widget Resellers infrastructure by transitioning to a virtualized environment using ESXi, with management handled by a vCenter VM. Two Lenovo ThinkSystem SR640 V3 servers replaced the previous setup. For storage, a RAID 1 configuration was implemented, utilizing 4TB NVMe for servers and 16TB for the file server. This solution resolved performance issues, improved scalability, and provided the reliability needed to support future growth.

Personal Projects

Unraid Linux Server: I host a vast media collection on an Unraid server with over 40TB of usable storage, managing and organizing my files seamlessly.

Home Domain Setup: I purchased a used Xeon server with a 2019 Server License and set up a home domain, connecting PCs and controlling them through policies for better management.

Virtualization with Hyper-V: I use Hyper-V to virtualize various servers for gaming, web hosting, and home automation, optimizing my resources for different needs.

Network Redesign: I redesigned my home network using Cisco switches and WiFi 6E access points for faster, more reliable connectivity. I also implemented Cloudflare Tunnel to securely expose services and apps, replacing traditional port forwarding for enhanced security.
